- Mandarin 3 - by base-o-holic - Mandarin 3 - by base-o-holic
I swear, I really tried to do the male counterpart first... :XD: And I will do it!

Reference: lots of photos from the fabulous :iconsenshistock: - she'd love it if you stop by and leave her a link to your doll!

ABOUT THE DISCLAIMER ON THE IMAGE:

While I do realize that those bases could be used as drawing reference, they were not meant to - their anatomy is stylized and not 100% accurate. Moreover, they were referenced from the stock photos of the amazing SenshiStock - using the originals (photos) instead of the by-product (bases) for drawing reference is a much better choice! :)
(If you're looking for the exact poses I referenced, you can find them here.)

You have no idea how useful these are for the poseable FIGMA figurines. My niece loves the 2011 Racing Miku figure I have and she's like "can you change her?" generally I try to memorize one of these for that purpose lol.

Why are the girls always drawn standing on the tips of their toes? I don't know anybody who stands constantly on their toes.

Because I made them mostly with doll pageants in mind and high heels are pretty common in those. It may be just my thing, but I find it easier to edit them to flats if needed than the other way around :). Also, most of the stock photos I used as reference were in high heels.

plus in *SenshiStock images which the artist based the pose from, the model wore high heels so I guess that's also why the toes are on stood tipped.

but they good for bases for less realistic work. I like the full spectrum of art: realistic, somewhat realistic, cartoony, zany, and the many shades in between. :)

Thank you very much for doing this. I know that you don't want we use your bases as Drawing Reference but they're very helpful to give us an idea. Senshi Stock's photos are very cool and helpful too, so, thank you both!

I just wanted to thank you, sorry for my bad english!

To be honest, these are a lot less stylized then some of the drawing references I've seen.
